Women’s Ultimate Fighting League?

Orion asked:

It is called T.U.F.F. Tidewater Ultimate Female Fighting. It looks like the ladies are getting a scoop on the fighting craze and won’t be left out of their own ‘Fight Club’.

Any thoughts on this Ladies and Gents?

ffemt, you said it. I bet not too long from now there could be a seperate women’s UFC division.
Brian, I don’t think you were being sexist. Look at the boxer Mia something that was also a Playboy Playmate, she gets more attention than other good, like you said, short haired robust fighters.

I think it is a good idea. I know a few females who are actually pretty accomplished BJJ/kickboxers, and are both training in MMA right now.

There are alot of excellent female fighters out there, they deserve a shot just like the guys.

Actually there are other promotions out there that have woman fighters. Now, before I go into my next statement I want to apologize to any females out there. I’m not trying to be sexist, but just making an opinion from what I know of MMA promotions. That being said, the main problem with woman divisions in MMA is that the promotions want babe woman fighters. Because that will bring in more of a crowd. No one wants to see a shaved head butch woman fighting it out. Unless she is getting her butt handed to her by a woman fighter that is hot. We can use woman’s boxing as the prime example of this. I’m not saying these woman are bad fighters. Hey, I’ve even rolled with some of them. But the priority for these promotions is revenue, and lets face it a hot woman will bring in more revenue than the non-hot one.

I think there are some GREAT women fighters out there. Too bad Dana White has said that he won’t ever have women’s fights in the UFC. His loss as far as I’m concerned. Who knows? Maybe SOMEday he will change his mind. For now I’ll just watch them in other organizations.
