Tito vs Machida?
Will W asked:
Tito Ortiz will be fighting his last fight for the UFC in may against Lyoto Machida. I’m very happy to hear this since I could never stand Tito and will love to see him leaving with a loss. So whats your predictions and feelings about him leaving.

Do you just want to read from people who agree with you, and why?
I predict that Machida will play his usual chase me around the ring routine. But, Tito will remember that he is a wrestler again. Take-down, ground and pound, vintage Tito, and Machida likely making some excuse for the loss.
*I told you how Tito could win this fight. It all depends on whether Tito is still preparing to fight Chuck over and over again. The Shamrock circus events didn’t help any. He has been mentally lost. But, as I wote: If Tito can get the ghost of Chuck off his shoulder he will man handle Machida.
As far as Machida goes: He has not fought anyone we have really heard of or seen before. It is obvious that Dana White has chosen him to be the new poster boy. Nobody knows if he is for real yet. He has not fought anyone near the likes of Wanerlei Silva, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, which Tito has. The fact that Tito lost to Randy and Chuck does not take away the fact that he did fight them and was dominate in the LHW division prior to that.

Tito will destroy Machida. He will take him to the ground and control the fight from there.

If Ortiz still got it, then it’s all his. But Machida is an amazing fighter and so it’s his Kyokoshin vs. Tito’s wrestling!

I don’t know that Tito will be able to take Machida down to the ground where he feels comfortable. Machida has the best tai sabaki (body movement) of any UFC fighter today. You attempt to strike and he’s not where he was when you initiated your attack, you attempt a takedown and his body is in a position to not only stifle the takedown but he’s also landing strikes. And when you try to counterstrike against him you’re swinging at air.
Tito shines against guys who want to charge at him and bang. He has a hard ground and pound game, and often wins by attrition. This could be a bad match up for him. Instead of two bulls colliding we have Tito as the bull and Machida as the elusive matador. Will Tito’s strength, conditioning, and athleticism win over agility, technique, and precision? It will be an interesting fight…

I don’t see Tito winning this fight either. I really don’t understand why people dislike Tito so much. The guy is a former light heavyweight champion who successfully defended the title 5 times. People say how they don’t like the fact he talks trash, but hey this is coming from the same people that like trash talkers like Diego Sanchez, and Nick Diaz. That being said Tito’s fighting days are over. He should stick to coaching which from his time on TUF seems to be where his future lies.
