Currently the UFC is the biggest MMA promotion, and as such, they have most of the best athletes.

Condit is a good fighter, but GSP is superior.

Faber wouldn’t be able to do much in the UFC, he is a weight class lower that lightweight, he wouldn’t be able handle the bigger opponents (case and point Tyson Griffin)

Pride is no more, UFC bought it and dismantled it.

Other organizations like Elitexc, strikeforce, and so on have good fighters, but then again, UFC has most of the best ones.

GSP is far superior to Carlos Condit. If the 5 UFC champs were to face-off against the 5 WEC Champs the UFC would easilly win 5-0. The best comparison for these two leagues is Majors to Minors. The UFC owns the WEC and sets it up this way. It is a developmental league. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Carlos Condit and Brian Stann get a call-up, however as they are talented enough to compete in the UFC.

The only two divisions worth watching in the WEC are Featherweight and Bantamweight because the UFC does not have these classes. Therefore, the WEC fighters in these classes are the best in the world. Miguel Torres and Urijah Faber of the WEC are likely in the Top 10 pound for pound fighter in the world.

Pride was bought out by the UFC a while ago and most of the best fighters from that organization are now in the UFC.

I disagree with your assessment that Paulo Fihlo can hold his own against the UFC’s best. I believe he is very overrated and did not look very good in his last fight in which he won by a controversial verbal tap-out. He has had injuries and personal problems over the last year and a half.
