[ Q ] Which player on your favorite baseball team has to step it up a notch for them to be more competitive?
Powermong’r The Machine asked:
With 15 games or so left in the regular season, there is afew good fights for the Wild Cards in both leagues. Also afew divisions seem up for grabs still. Which player on your favorite team has to kick it up a notch for them to be more competitive? If you think your team is out of the hunt then please let me know which player has to turn up the juice for next year.

Pablo Sandoval. He’s the best hitter on the Giants and has been struggling a little lately, he needs to help out the already poor offense we have.

Jermane Dye.
First Half: .302
Second Half: .168
He needs to get back into form if the White Sox are going to do the improbable.

Vernon Wells, if he can hit like he should hit, which is around .280 25+ homers 80+ RBIS, the Jays could have been in contention this year, and if he has to do that for them to be good next year.

Mike Cameron-while a pretty decent Center Fielder, he can be streaky at bat. When he connects though, he has good power. So maybe work a bit on his technique to let that power come through on better pitches.
I’d mentions pitchers, but I’m hoping we justget some new ones. I guess I’d say Jeff Suppan needs to step it up too though since we are stuck with him for another year.

Vladimir Guerrero, he only has 15 homers this season, he needs a .300 BA, and 25 homers to break the record with most consecutive seasons with 25 or more homers and a .300 BA.

Josh Beckett needs to be more consistent for the Red Sox.

Braden Looper, with all the run support he gets, there’s no reason he should lose as many games as he has

ARod. I live outside of Baltimore and I saw him here in his first game back after the DL. Then, the first at at bat, first pitch, hit a 3 run homer over the left-center fence. He needs to show that raw power because ‘roids or not he can hit it out of anywhere.

Jason Varitek. The guy kills rallies, and is terrible at defense all of the sudden
