Dan Samuels asked:
A young, 26 yr. old 220 lb, prospect in the Mixed Martial Arts world has emerged. Miguel Devares an ex-special operations Tech. Srgt. from the U.S. Air Force who has served his country in Iraq and in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom has been training extensively at Vale Tudo gym in the Bronx.
Devares, who has been training in Brazilian style Ju-Jitstu and already has great boxing abilities for his stand up has filled up his gym floor while just practicing and sparing with other contenders. “He’s been a great asset to our gym and a monster in the cage, I haven’t seen talent like this in my life and he is not at his full potential yet”, says head trainer of Vale Tudo and ex MMA fighter Larry Johnson. It has been rumored that ,”The Pikee”, as he likes to be called will be a great contender in the sport of MMA, and when asked if he is looking to make a career out of the sport his only reply was “let’s see how many knock outs I can get first”. The MMA world is definitely waiting to see what has been rumored to be the best pound for pound fighter to ever join the world of cage fighting. As his opponent on Nov. 26, The Pikee, will be facing, 15 – 3 Gary Brand, from World Class Gym in Brooklyn N.Y. When asked what he thought about his opponentBrand stated that he will go into this fight as he goes into all his fights never underestimating his opponent, he also remarked that The Pikee has created big hype for himself in the MMA and he is waiting to see if he will live up to it.
We’ll just have to wait and see what the new comer, “The Pikee”, has to offer but it has been guaranteed to not be a dull fight.
